Goodbye 2012; Hello 2013!

2012 was, for me, a very significant year. A lot of great music was performed with Age of Reason, Blackboard Blues Band, Six String Mojo and Weathered Kings. As well, I met a lot of great musicians who have become friends and started performing at various Open Mic Nights in Mississauga and Toronto. I loved it so much, I started my own Open Mic Night on Wednesday evenings at The Drake & Firkin here in Mississauga. I also had the chance to record some talented artists here in my playD studio and help them realize some of their dreams.

Personally, this was the year I lost my father, a former business partner and friend and most recently, a theatre friend and former Rotarian I brought into my club, the Rotary Club of Mississauga-Meadowvale. I also became President of the club on July 1st. Our family also welcomed a new addition, a new puppy named Buddy.

I am guessing my year has been similar to each of yours — happy times punctuated by tragedy or loss and other, more joyful milestones. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your support this past year, whether it be coming out to see me perform, joining me onstage at the Open Mic Nights, or simply sending me a note of encouragement or congratulations — these small acts of kindness are VERY much appreciated and valued.

To all of you — Happy New Year and all the best in 2013.
